Pictou County Community Health Centre Society (PCCHCS)
Funding from the Foundation enabled the development of a “Pictou County Community Health Centre Pre-Operational Business Plan” for a Community Health Centre for Pictou West.
To do this work, the PCCHCS undertook an extensive stakeholder engagement process with service providers, community groups, and service users; and reviewed current Community Health Care models in the province, as well as available data pertaining to healthcare outcomes in Pictou County. The research provided insight regarding possible services the CHC could offer clients. The completed business plan is found:http://aberdeenhealthfoundation.ca/PCCHC
The next phase of this project is to create an operational plan to prepare to open the doors of a CHC in order to transform health services in Pictou County.
The funding was essential in enabling the PCCHCS to achieve the creation of the business plan. A health consultant was hired who worked with a group of volunteers on all aspects of the work.
